The episode begins with a police officer driving in the forest, who is evidently on the other end of Molly’s phone call to the police in “Quiet in the Museum!” She expresses concern out loud when the call is abruptly ended by Giovanni on the other end and decides to head to the museum to investigate with the rest of her squad.

A roar issues from inside the museum and Dr. Beefton debuts, towering over Molly and Giovanni who scream in terror.

Cue the intro.

Dr. Beefton continues to intimidate them by saying he has a “PhD in death,” as well as a doctorate in philosophy and modern linguistics. Giovanni asks Molly if she can unsummon Dr. Beefton like she previously did with the Counting Sheep but she affirms that Hushabye only work on small creatures. Beefton charges at them but they dodge in time. He growls that next time they won’t be so lucky, which Giovanni responds to by ripping the knife off of his bat and hitting it toward Dr. Beefton like one would with a baseball, only for it to deal no damage. Giovanni embarrassedly asks for his knife back since it’s his mom’s, which causes Dr. Beefton to throw it at him. Giovanni jumps to the side so it becomes stuck in the wall instead, yelling in shock. He yells at Beefton that he told his mom he wouldn’t break it, and becomes dismayed after realizing how mad his mom’s going to be when he gets back. Molly looks for any sort of weakness on Dr. Beefton, spotting Sylvie’s sleeping body suspended inside his torso. From this she deduces that all they have to do to beat the doctor is to wake up Sylvie.

With her realization Dr. Beefton charges at Molly, sending her flying into the air and landing roughly on the floor. Giovanni hits him with his bat but it again is ineffective, because there is "too much beef in the way.” Molly tries to think of a way to wake up Sylvie and is nearly crushed by Dr. Beefton before Giovanni distracts him by waving his red cape at the bull. Dr. Beefton laughs at his attempt before promptly charging at the cape, crashing into the wall and sending some turtle plushes onto the ground.

This additionally causes some ceiling lights to fall down. Giovanni attempts to shine the lights into Dr. Beefton's torso to wake up Sylvie but Dr. Beefton buttons up his jacket before he can get Sylvie to do much more than stir slightly, blocking the light. Dr. Beefton grabs the bears from Fort Cool Guy and repeatedly bashes Giovanni with them. Giovanni is injured but uses his once-per-battle Ancient Potion (which is a bottle of soup materialized from his sweat) to heal, smugly saying that all his attacks have so far been useless. Dr. Beefton proceeds to hit him some more before Molly triggers the fire alarm. The piercing sound causes Dr. Beefton to cover his ears in discomfort and protest before shrinking and disappearing as Sylvie wakes up from all the noise. He is exhausted and disheartened and utterly defeated. Giovanni “promotes” Molly up one Banzai Rank as Sylvie crawls away with the intent to warn the “staff” about them. They explain to Sylvie that Mera was the one going to steal the amulet but Sylvie continues to be skeptical. He refuses to team up with them as he is “a highly trained epithet user who graduated college and became a psychologist at the age of 15”, while they are little more than “criminal scum.” Molly diverts Giovanni’s irritation by saying that they should be nice to Sylvie, since if you’re nice to people, people tend to be nice back. She greets Sylvie and he promptly blows a raspberry at her. Molly offers to be his friend after they learn that Sylvie has none. Sylvie declines, as he’s not interested in working with people who would mess with academia. Molly hesitantly points out the rest of the room and Sylvie wails in dismay when he sees all the damage Dr. Beefton wreaked on the museum. He wonders if he could plead self-defense, before Giovanni points out that he attacked them first. After some more convincing on Molly’s part, Sylvie begrudgingly agrees to join them so they can beat Mera. However, he adamantly refuses to join the Banzai Blasters and he and Giovanni get into a heated debate.

Molly disrupts Sylvie and Giovanni's arguing to point out that the police are coming due to the fire alarm. Over in the storage room, Mera realizes the same thing and, panicking, wakes up Indus by smacking him with a crowbar. She frantically searches for the amulet while Indus apologizes and unconcernedly talks about sand while helping to look through boxes. Mera finds the amulet and holds it up with a triumphant smile.

After the commercials we cut back to Molly, Giovanni, and Sylvie walking through the hallway. Molly asks about Giovanni’s bat with a knife taped onto it, which he calls his Soul Slugger Doom Bat. Sylvie calls it a toy and Giovanni responds with a remark on Sylvie’s yo-yo, leading them into another heated debate until Molly breaks them up. Sylvie asks her why she’s even with Giovanni, prompting her to talk about her dead mother. Sylvie offers her his business card, which has his number, and says that she’s free to come over to his office anytime. She politely says that she can’t afford a therapist, and he responds by saying that the first session is free. Molly gives him her business card in return and the three try to come up with a plan, now in the hallway near the desert exhibit. Giovanni asks Sylvie about his epithet, and Sylvie sarcastically asks what kind of person tells their epithet to someone they just met.

On cue, Indus barges in and introduces himself with his name and epithet, which is “Barrier.” He explains that he is here to retrieve Molly and to prevent Giovanni from reaching Mera. He asks for Molly to come with him so they can test the amulet. Molly tries to decline before Sylvie attempts to intervene. He starts an inner monologue with himself to figure out how to best deceive Indus and get to Mera and the amulet. However, he overthinks too hard on the simple situation and ends up maniacally playing mental chess with himself while on the outside he’s been standing in front of Indus for forty seconds twitching and not blinking. Indus politely interrupts him with a reminder that Sylvie can go take a look at the amulet. Sylvie snaps out of it and sheepishly follows Indus’ directions to the room. After Sylvie is gone, Indus turns his attention back to Molly, trying to coax her into seeing Mera. Molly is about to give in when Giovanni blocks her from Indus, bravely proclaiming that if she won’t stand up for herself, then he will. Indus is overcome with awe, remarking that while Molly is his minion, Giovanni is still willing to protect her, almost like they’re bodyguarding each other! He agrees to fight Giovanni in an honorable duel, easily winning due to Giovanni getting distracted with assuring Molly that he’ll win. Giovanni is knocked off-screen and unconscious by Indus’ barrier and Molly collapses to the floor, devastated at the fact that he got hurt because he tried to protect her. Before leaving for the storage room with Indus, she asks why Mera wants her epithet so much, as it’s not very powerful or useful. Indus explains that while Mera’s epithet is extremely strong, it comes with a cost. The camera slides over to Sylvie entering the storage room and Mera in the back. Mera’s epithet keeps her in great pain at all times, and after searching for so long for a way to rid her of it, they finally discovered the amulet: a way to gain a second epithet, one that could counteract her pain. She smiles and shards of cracked glass erupt from the floor as Sylvie summons his Counting Sheep. Indus ominously adds that now she’s so close to finally have it within her grasp… she would do anything to get it.

Her epithet is revealed to be “Fragile.”
